Giffoni Film Fest to Honor Amy Adams
The actress will hold a master class with the festival’s young guests to discuss her career.
Amy Adams is the latest celebrity set to visit the south of Italy for the Giffoni Film Festival, the annual entertainment event dedicated exclusively to children and teenagers, which is set to run July 14-22.
The actress will be honored with the fest's Giffoni Experience Award on July 15. She will hold a master class with the event’s young guests to discuss her career.
Adams has been nominated for five Academy Awards for films including Junebug, Doubt, The Fighter, The Master and American Hustle. She won two Golden Globes for her work in Big Eyes and American Hustle. The actress recently appeared in Denis Villenueve’s Arrival and Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals, both of which had their world premieres last year in Venice.
Adams will next appear on the HBO series Sharp Objects, based on the book by Gillian Flynn and directed by Jean-Marc Valle. She also will reprise her role as Lois Lane in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which is set to premiere in November.
The Giffoni Film Fest brings in thousands of young jurists from around the world to award films in each age category. It has proven to be a successful launch pad for new summer releases, with this year seeing the Italian release of Despicable Me 3 at the event.
Other honorees this year include Bryan Cranston and Kit Harrington.
