Gina Rodriguez to Host Costume Designers Guild Awards
The awards are set to take place Feb. 20.
Gina Rodriguez will host the 20th annual Costume Designers Guild Awards, which are scheduled to take place Feb. 20 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
In addition to naming the Jane the Virgin star as the show's host, the CDG on Wednesday also revealed the evening's special honorees: Acclaimed costume designer Joanna Johnston (Allied; Lincoln) will receive the career achievement award; director Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water) will be given the distinguished collaborator award; and jeweler Maggie Schpak will be recognized with the distinguished service award.
“I am thrilled the Costume Designers Guild asked me to host the platinum anniversary of the CDGA ceremony," Rodriguez said in a statement. "Working with my Jane the Virgin costume designer, the marvelous Rachel Sage Kunin, has been one of the most fulfilling collaborative relationships of my career. I cannot wait to celebrate with Rachel, and her peers, on this milestone evening.”
