Wonder Girls chart with 'Nobody'

Korean girl-group makes rare Asian US chart appearance

SEOUL -- “Nobody,” a hit single by Korean girl-group Wonder Girls entered the Hot 100 on U.S. Billboard Charts at No. 76, as the first Korean performer to debut in the hit list.
The retro-themed quintet, whose style on stage has been carefully crafted to mimic singers of 1960s Motown by the producer Park Jin-young (JYP Entertainment) had a phenomenal hit in Korea with the same song last year.
Wonder Girls officially made their U.S. debut in June by joining the Jonas Brothers on their American tour. The group signed a joint-management deal with Jonas Group to make inroads into the U.S. market. So far, they sold have over 30,460 albums there to put them on the charts.
Asian artists seldom appear on U.S. music charts. Previously, singers including Kyu Sakamoto, Pink Lady and Yellow Monkey Orchestra have made the rare crossover.
