The series, which debuts Nov. 2, also will feature comedians George Lopez, Chris Parnell and Jeff Ross.

Go90 is mining sports comedy with its newest series.

The Verizon-owned streaming service has picked up sports mockumentary The 5th Quarter from multimedia production company OBB Pictures, 3 Arts Entertainment and digital studio Kids at Play.

The 5th Quarter, which premieres Nov. 2, will tell untold — and untrue — stories set in the sports world with the help of a cadre of professional athletes and comedians, including JB Smoove, Jerry O'Connell, George Lopez, Adam Pally, Chris Parnell, Jeff Ross, Metta World Peace, Ahmad Rashad and Chandler Parsons.

The 12-episode series begins with "But I'm Just a Little Boy," in which Blake Griffin stars as seven-year-old Clif Cliff Adele who comes to America with his uncle Brian (Donnell Rawlings) and sets the basketball world on fire. The NBA, including Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, takes notice but a scandal breaks out when it's revealed that Clif Cliff is actually a 30-year-old man.

"This series combines the worlds of premium comedy and sports better than ever before," said OBB Pictures CEO and president, Michael D. Ratner. "We're very proud to work exclusively with go90 and with such a diverse all-star cast who were able to bring these untold stories to life in their sometimes inspiring, shocking and comedic ways. Whether the biggest sports fan or not at all, this is a show for everyone."

This is OBB's first project with go90. The company recently wrapped production on feature-length documentary One in a Billion, about India-born NBA player Satnam Singh Bhamara, and has a co-production agreement to develop and produce a slate of sports-themed projects with Mandalay Sports Media.

The 5th Quarter was created by Ratner and OBB Pictures' Matthew Hirschhorn and was written by Ratner, Hirschhorn, Eric D. Cohen, Sean Thomas Spencer and Seth Weitberg.

Ratner, who directed eight episodes, serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside OBB's Scott Ratner, Cohen and Hirschhorn. Michael Rotenberg and Jonathan Berry are executive producing for 3 Arts, and Amy Laslett and Jason Berger are executive producing for Kids at Play. Spencer and Weitberg serve as co-executive producers.

The series is produced by OBB's Kfir Goldberg and Elias Tanner.

The 5th Quarter joins a growing roster of shortform programming on the free, ad-supported go90. The service currently boasts more than 250 hours of exclusive, original series.

"Michael and the OBB Pictures team have delivered an original series that rivals anything you would find on premium cable," said go90 content chief Ivana Kirkbride. "The 5th Quarter has something for everyone week-over-week and we feel fortunate to be the exclusive destination for it."
