GoDigital Hires Former Focus Exec as Executive VP Distribution and Merchandising

Kent Sanderson will oversee cable, satellite and digital platform relationships.

Former Focus Features exec Kent Sanderson has been named executive vp distribution and merchandising at GoDigital.

GoDigital distributes film and music via digital platforms. Its last release was the music documentary Sample This while one of its next movies will be Dumbbells, a comedy starring Carl Reiner and Jay Mohr among others.

At GoDigital, Sanderson will oversee "the company's cable, satellite and digital platform relationships as well as manage content windowing and marketing opportunities with the various digital retailers," according to the company.

He will also attend this year's Sundance Film Festival with a mandate to acquire content.

At Focus, Sanderson's title was director, alternative content & distribution and he was involved in the acquisition, distribution and marketing of Alex Gibney's We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks, as well as Sundance titles The Lifeguard starring Kristen Bell and C.O.G. based on the story by David Sedaris.

Sanderson also worked on the marketing campaign on Edgar Wright's The World's End, Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom and The Place Beyond the Pines.
