Golf deal with Cablevision basic for U.S.

The Golf Channel said Thursday that it will be available to the more than 2 million Cablevision customers who subscribe to the company's iO basic digital cable lineup, which "rounds out the Golf Channel's efforts to become fully distributed in the New York metropolitan area," the Comcast Corp.-owned network said. The agreement means the channel is available to more than 7 million cable and satellite homes in the New York market and also makes the network a basic digital offering, at minimum, on every major cable system nationwide.
