It's good news for AMC's 'Bad'


AMC officially has greenlighted the drama series "Breaking Bad" from writer-producer-director Vince Gilligan.

The network has ordered eight new episodes of the drama in addition to the pilot and is targeting a debut for sometime next year. The news of the pickup had been expected (HR 5/22).

The drama follows the story of a desperate man (Bryan Cranston) who turns to a life of crime to secure his family's financial security. The series also stars Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris and RJ Mitte.

Gilligan and Mark Johnson are executive producing the series from High Bridge Prods. and Gran Via Prods. in association with Sony Pictures Television.
