A new icon on Google Maps allows users to play a round of 'Pac-Man' on any street or area.

Google may have just pulled off an early April Fool's Day prank.

Currently on Google Maps, users have the option to play a classic game of Pac-Man on any street or area. By clicking an icon in the the bottom left of the screen (beside the Google Earth view icon), Google Maps will zoom in to a specific region on the map and transform it into a Pac-Man maze, complete with pac-dots and ghosts.

Pac-Man's movements up and down the streets can be controlled using the arrow keys on a keyboard, but be wary of the spectral Blinky, Inky, Pinky and Clyde, who also are on the move. The Pac-Man view works on desktops only, and not mobile devices.

Google has historically played tricks on its users around April Fool's Day. Last year, Google turned its Maps into an interactive Pokémon game. That was just one of its laundry list of little pranks.
