Goulet to be honored on Vegas marquees

LAS VEGAS -- Robert Goulet will again be featured on Las Vegas Strip marquees.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority is asking hotel-casinos to honor the late singer and actor on the day of his funeral this Friday.

The big-voiced baritone died from a form of pulmonary fibrosis on Oct. 30 in Los Angeles while awaiting a lung transplant.

Services will be held at The Shrine of the Most Holy Redeemer in Las Vegas at 1 p.m.

Among those invited are Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, Rich Little, Michael and Kirk Douglas, Suzanne Somers, Barry Manilow, Celine Dion, Wayne Newton and Lance Burton.

The public is invited.
