Met Gala: Grace Coddington Shows Up in PJs

Of the floral silk variety — looking gorgeous.

Grace Coddington, the legendary flame-haired creative director of American Vogue, has been around long enough to know she’s in for a long evening at the Met Gala.

Which must be why she opted for silk pajamas at the Monday evening event at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. For the fashion industry’s biggest night, themed “China: Through the Looking Glass,” the style setter chose a blue floral-printed top (that may or may not have a mandarin collar) and bottoms that looked suspiciously like sleepwear.

And more power to her. The 74-year-old author is known for her unique style and she definitely turned it out at the gala, which also drew early arrivals like a freshly bobbed Katie Holmes, alongside Zac Posen.
