Grammy Week Parties

Music's biggest night was actually a five-day affair, kicking off with a Feb. 8 event at recording studio The Village honoring Interscope Geffen A&M chairman Jimmy Iovine. Guests included such music luminaries as Dr. Dre and Stevie Nicks. The night's performer: newcomer Lana Del Rey, who, by virtue of the booking, can count on a powerful endorsement to kick off her career. And while Sunday's Grammy Awards brought in record ratings in the wake of Whitney Houston's death, the parties delivered surprises including an appearance by Rihanna at House of Blues, where she peformed her hit "We Found Love," and a mini-set by Bruno Mars at Warner Music Group's postshow bash at Chateau Marmont. Grooving with fist in the air: Paul McCartney. As Coolio once said, "Ain't no party like a West Coast party."
