Grammys 2015: Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood Win Big in Country Categories

The Band Perry and Glen Campbell also were among the country artists that took home awards at Sunday’s Grammys, held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Girls win big in country music: Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood were among the musicians to be honored in country categories at the 57th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday.

For best country album, Lambert took home the trophy for Platinum, winning over Dierks Bentley’s Riser, Eric Church’s The Outsiders, Brandy Clark’s 12 Stories and Lee Ann Womack’s The Way I’m Livin’.

Underwood’s “There's Something in the Water” was awarded best country solo performance, beating out Church’s “Give Me Back My Hometown,” Hunter Hayes’ “Invisible,” Lambert’s ”Automatic”  and Keith Urban’s “Cop Car."

Glen Campbell’s "I’m Not Gonna Miss You” won best country song. Other nominees in the category included Kenny Chesney’s “American Kids,” Lambert’s “Automatic,” Church’s “Give Me Back My Hometown" and Tim McGraw’s “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s.”

For best country duo/group performance, The Band Perry won for “Gentle on My Mind.” Little Big Town as well as duets by Lambert and Underwood, McGraw and Faith Hill and Urban and Church also were contenders in the category.
