Jennifer Hudson revealed a few details about the Aretha Franklin tribute that will open the Grammys.

"I get to belt. It's Aretha. How can you not belt?" said Hudson, who wore a Versace dress and said of the singer, "She's our idol."

National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences president Neil Portnow said the inspiration behind the performance was to give Franklin a valentine in the form of a performance.

He also said she would make an appearance during the performance.

She has been rumored to be battling pancreatic cancer.
