Granada launches on mioTV

Channel will feature ITV library including 'Prime Suspect'

HONG KONG -- Granada TV, the international version of U.K. commercial broadcaster ITV, Wednesday took to the airwaves for the first time in Asia.

The general entertainment channel launched on mioTV, the Singapore IPTV platform operated by Singapore Telecom. It is being offered as part of the SuperSaver English package and also on an a la carte basis.

Drawing heavily on ITV's program library, Granada TV comprises a mix of hit contemporary dramas ("Prime Suspect"), comedies, reality shows and talk- and entertainment-shows including "The Jeremy Kyle Show," "The Friday Night Project," "Ballroom Bootcamp," "Airline" and "Vroom Vroom."

ITV Global Entertainment said that many of the programs have never previously been seen in Asia.

MioTV now offers 62 channels and recently passed the 100,000 subscriber milestone.
