Dropped sound and static briefly disrupted two of the performances.

Many Grease: Live viewers were checking the volume on their televisions on Sunday night when part of the audio dropped out during the East Coast broadcast.

The audio dropped out during Joe Jonas' performance for several seconds during scenes featuring the hand-jive competition at Rydell High School.

A Fox spokesperson attributed the snafu to the nature of live TV and said the "sound just dropped for a moment."

Moments later, microphone static could be heard as Julianne Hough was singing "Hopelessly Devoted to You."

Fox said the production team is working to fix the audio for the West Coast broadcast.
