'Great British Bake Off' Hosts to Quit Show When It Moves to Channel 4
Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc say they "made no secret of our desire" for the hit show to stay on the BBC.
Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc will quit as hosts of The Great British Bake Off when the U.K. ratings hit moves from the BBC to Channel 4 after the end of the current season, they said Tuesday.
The fate of judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood wasn't immediately clear, but they are also known to have preferred staying with the BBC.
"We were very shocked and saddened to learn yesterday evening that Bake Off will be moving from its home," the hosts said. "We made no secret of our desire for the show to remain where it was."
They concluded: "We're not going with the dough. We wish all the future bakers every success."
