Renee Zellweger is starring in the Paramount film

Greg Kinnear, Djimon Hounsou and Jon Voight are joining Renee Zellweger in Paramount's religious drama Same Kind of Different as Me.

The film is based on the nonfiction book by Ron Hall and Denver Moore with Lynn Vincent, author of the best-selling book Heaven Is for Real. The story centers on Hall (Kinnear), an international art dealer who must befriend a dangerous homeless man (Hounsou) in order to save his struggling marriage to his wife (Zellweger). Voight will play Hall's father, with whom he reconciles thanks to the revelations of his new life.

Michael Carney will make his directorial debut from a screenplay he co-wrote with Alexander Foard and Hall. Production is set to begin in Jackson, Miss., on Oct. 27.

Mary Parent and Cale Boyter will produce through Disruption Entertainment, alongside Darren Moorman, Stephen Johnston and Hall. The executive producers are Chris Bancroft, Hans Graffunder, Carney and Foard.

Faith-based films have had a strong year at the box office, with Heaven Is for Real earning $101.3 million worldwide to date. The Sony/TriStar film, made for $12 million, earned $22.5 million in its opening weekend to take the No. 2 spot.

Kinnear starred in Heaven Is for Real. He's repped by CAA and Stone Meyer.

Hounsou was most recently seen in hit Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy, and he's been busy with several upcoming films including Fast & Furious 7 and Tarzan. He's repped by CAA, The Safran Company and Sloane Offer.

Voight continues to star on TV series Ray Donovan, and is repped by CAA.
