The news comes three years after his former partner Anthony Cumia was let go after posting a series of racist remarks on Twitter.

SiriusXM has fired Opie Radio Show host Gregg "Opie" Hughes, the satellite radio giant has confirmed.

“SiriusXM confirms it has terminated its relationship with Gregg ‘Opie’ Hughes, host of the Opie Radio Show weekday afternoons on the Faction Talk channel," a statement from SiriusXM reads, adding, "SiriusXM does not publicly discuss internal personnel issues.”

The firing comes three years after Hughes' former co-host Anthony Cumia was let go after he posted a series of racist remarks on Twitter.

After Cumia's departure, the show was renamed and Hughes continued on with comedian Jim Norton as his co-host.

The Opie Radio Twitter account posted a series of tweets indicating Hughes is no longer with Sirius but without explaining what happened.

Cumia and others were thanked for their support.

In a series of tweets, Cumia also said he assumed Hughes had been fired after the Opie Radio Show disappeared from the SiriusXM schedule.
