Gregory Little takes post at Gotham Group

Rainmaker Animation exec named vp development

Rainmaker Animation executive Gregory Little has been hired as vp development at the Gotham Group.

Little will oversee the management-production outfit's first-look deal with Sony Pictures Animation ("Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs") and will find and develop animation and live-action/CGI hybrid projects.

"Gotham has a fantastic group of managers and clients, and they are like a candy store for source material," Little said. "With SPA as our studio partner, I couldn't be more excited for what we will do together."

Before joining Rainmaker, Little worked in development for producer Mark Gordon and as a partner at Sunshine Amalgamedia in New York. He produced the film "The Citizen" and an animated video sequel to "The Nutty Professor." He's also a producer on "Escape From Planet Earth," a Rainmaker feature that the Weinstein Co. will distribute.

"His relationships with talent as well as his instinct to develop quality production will serve as an amazing asset to Gotham," CEO Ellen Goldsmith-Vein said.

Founded by Goldsmith-Vein in 1994, Gotham produced "The Spiderwick Chronicles," which grossed $160 million worldwide. The company is also putting together director David O. Russell's comedy "Nailed."

On the TV side, the company produced the animated CBS show "Creature Comforts," the ABC telefilm "Elmo's Christmas Countdown" and the Oxygen reality show "Repo Girls." Gotham also has a number of animated series in development with Fox Broadcasting.
