Charlize Theron, Joel Edgerton Engage in Some Shady Business in 'Gringo' Trailer
After sending their employee Harold (David Oyelowo) to Mexico, the businessman is unexpectedly kidnapped by a cartel as a consequence of their secret business dealings.
Business goes haywire for Charlize Theron and Joel Edgerton in the trailer for Amazon Studios’ Gringo.
In the upcoming film, American businessman Harold (David Oyelowo) is unexpectedly kidnapped by a cartel while on a business trip to Mexico. Unaware of why he is being targeted, Harold soon learns that his corporate bosses (Theron and Edgerton) had a secret business deal with the criminals over their formula for an innovative weed pill.
“Harold, I’m just gonna spit this out. We sold a little product to the cartels. But we cut them off, they got a little angry,” Edgerton’s character tells Harold, with Theron’s character calling Harold a “cry baby.”
Desperate to return home, Oyelowo’s Harold must join forces with an assailant (Sharlto Copley) to escape.
The film is directed by Nash Edgerton, with the screenplay by Anthony Tambakis. Amanda Seyfried and Thandie Newton also star.
Gringo is set to hit theaters March 9, 2018.
