Andy Karl, Barrett Doss Sing of Regret in 'Groundhog Day' Musical's "If I Had My Time Again" (Exclusive Video)
Together, they sing of when Phil "once masturbated seven times" and how Rita "would punch a lot of men," among other things.
Andy Karl and Barrett Doss have starkly different regrets in the song "If I Had My Time Again" from the Broadway musical Groundhog Day.
Directed by Matthew Warchus, the stage adaptation of the 1993 screen favorite stars Karl in the Bill Murray role of jaded TV weatherman Phil Connors, stuck on a loop in small-town Pennsylvania. Doss plays Rita, Phil's producer, who is quite resistant to his charms. The production features music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and a book by Danny Rubin, and is nominated for seven Tony Awards.
The video for the tune, which The Hollywood Reporter debuts exclusively, sees Karl, Doss, Minchin and the whole musical team in the recording studio, as well as onstage at the August Wilson Theater. Together, they sing of when Phil "once masturbated seven times" and how Rita "would punch a lot of men," among other things.
Masterworks Broadway and Broadway Records' cast recording of Groundhog Day The Musical is now available. Watch the video below.
