Groundswell taps Jonathan Fischer

Will serve as the indie film outlet's COO

NEW YORK -- Groundswell Prods. has appointed Jonathan Fischer as its new COO.

While not taking the title of CFO at the indie film outfit, he will fulfill the duties of outgoing CFO Peter Herzig, who is now focusing on film finance consulting work.

Janice Williams has also been promoted from vp physical production to head of physical production. The exec is now on the east coast for the filming of Andrew Jarecki's detective drama "All Good Things," slated for distribution by the Weinstein Co. Groundswell co-produced this month's Miramax release "Smart People."

Fischer joins the company after serving as CFO of Intrepid Pictures since Febriary 2006 and, prior to that, vp stategic planning and business development at Universal.
