Grupe upped at Entertainment One

BERLIN -- Rainer Grupe has been named vp filmed entertainment at Canadian DVD giant Entertainment One with a mandate to expand the international side of the company.
Grupe, whose production credits include Joaquin Phoenix starrer "Buffalo Soldiers" and George Michael documentary "A Different Story," will oversee Entertainment One's filmed entertainment operations, reporting to Patrice Theroux, president of Entertainment One's filmed entertainment division.
Grupe previous jobs includes a stint as vp international sales for PolyGram Film Interantional in London and vp acquisition and distribution for Germany's Senator Film.
"Rainer has a vast amount of experience and high level contacts in buying and selling movies on an international level and thoroughly understands this market inside out," Theroux said. "His knowledge and expertise are going to be of huge benefit to Contender, RCV, Seville and Koch Vision, and to all of us at Entertainment One Group."
