Gurin Company Pacts With Canada's CBC on Global Formats

The international format producer and the Canadian pubcaster will partner on new content for North American and world markets.

TORONTO – Phil Gurin's The Gurin Company has joined with the CBC to develop new formats for global distribution of Canadian content.

The creative joint venture will aim at new Canadian content to launch first in North America, and then around the world.

"By partnering with CBC we will be able to work with some of the best creative minds in Canada to develop exciting new formats,” said Gurin, president and CEO of The Gurin Company, in a statement on Friday.

The Gurin Company earlier brought the BBC’s The Weakest Link to NBC and syndication, and brought Fox's Test The Nation show after it launched in The Netherlands.

It also brought Germany’s long-running game show Wetten Dass? to ABC as Wanna Bet?
