Guy Mayson exiting film, TV association

Joined Ottawa-based CFTPA more than a decade ago

TORONTO -- Canadian indie film and TV producers are looking for a new top government lobbyist after Guy Mayson on Thursday said he will step down as president and CEO of the Canadian Film and Television Production Assn.

Mayson, who joined the Ottawa-based CFTPA in 1997, will remain with the Canadian producers association in an advisory role until his successor is found.

Mayson's departure comes as indie producers continue key negotiations with domestic broadcasters on a first-time terms-of-trade agreement to value program rights, including new media product.
