Gwyneth Paltrow on Launching Goop: "I Was a Fool" (Video)
The actress explained why she thinks some of her newsletter's critics are off-base.
Gwyneth Paltrow has learned a lot since starting her lifestyle publication Goop.
The 42-year-old actress was asked during a recent Market Makers appearance whether she knew quite what she was signing up for when she launched the polarizing newsletter in 2008.
"I didn't," Paltrow said with a smile. "I was a fool. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. But I have to say, it’s been incredibly rewarding, and I learn so much every day."
The Mortdecai star acknowledged that her publication receives its share of flak, but she feels that some of the naysayers might be misinformed.
"Sometimes I think that some of the criticism that Goop gets is because people haven't actually gone to the site and looked around to see what we actually are," Paltrow said. She added that Goop is not "a super-luxury site, but we're aspirational."
