Streicher Sisters' Striiike Salon Main - P 2014

The chic space housing Hollywood's go-to Streicher sister trio debuts Tuesday

Kristie, Ashley and Jenn Streicher embody the word "teamwork." The three sisters are each masters of a key beauty practice — eyebrow shaping, makeup artistry and hair styling, respectively — and have spent a combined 40 years catering to a Hollywood who’s who both on and off the red carpet, including Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Claire Danes, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Gyllenhaal and Lea Michele.

The women are now branching out beyond celebrity grooming and beautifying by opening a collaborative beauty space, called STRIIIKE (the three I's represent the three sisters). Says Kristie, "It was all about timing. I was looking for a new space and wanted to create something of my own." While their salon was being built out, she was the first artist-in-residence at Violet Grey; her sisters have also worked with the innovative beauty site. And, she adds, "Ashley and Jenn were ready to have a place where they could see clients outside the realm of 'celebrity.' "

The new Civic Center Drive location in Beverly Hills is unsurprisingly chic, starting with the exterior, which features their logo, huge and in gold. With lots of natural light, easel-like mirrors at each station, spare midcentury furnishings and a gallery wall, they tell Pret-a-Reporter their "beauty destination" has the type of "calm, laid-back energy you would find in our homes, [as opposed to] the frenetic feeling that’s found in some salons." Even the triangular retail section is super cool, full of their favorite products from brands including Sachajuan, Seven, RMS, Kimiko and Rouge Bunny Rouge, and Kristie's Afore Oil and Apres Cream, naturally.

Clients — appointments are required — can expect the true Hollywood experience, whether it’s Kristie’s signature feathered brow look or Ashley’s bold haircuts. They even offer a service called Lightning Strike, which consists of a 15-minute zhush-ing up by all three girls at once. They’ll also steam your dress during services so you can change in their dressing area — celebrity or not.

When it comes to implementing their talents, expect to see plenty of full brows with character, courtesy of Kristie, because "natural should never go ‘out of style' in my opinion. They only seem 'thick' because people have been wearing them thin for so long, since the early ’90s."

As for makeup, Jenn not only applies it — in red-carpet style, which she deems "pretty safe," or a bit more editorially, aka "bright lips or a lot of color on the eyes, like blues, greens and purples" — but also offers one-on-one instruction and technique tips in an attempt to make the process less intimidating.

For hair, Ashley says she’s loving this classic bob moment — either with graphic, hard lines or a softer texture — but is watching the clock run out on the unnatural colored hair trend. Perhaps the grooming expert’s favorite trend? "Everyone who knows me knows I love a man with hair, so man braids and man buns are my most favorite for guys." Hear that, guys? You’re welcome at STRIIIKE, too.
