Hamptons Film Festival: Where to Step Up Your Beauty and Wellness Game

Whether it's a treatment from Jennifer Aniston's go-to facialist or a coif at the salon that counts the Olsen twins as regulars, we've got you covered on how to get prepped like an A-lister for the fest.

The Hamptons International Film Festival kicks off on Thursday, and along with screenings and appearances by Aaron Eckhart, Edward Norton and Holly Hunter, among others, there will be many cocktail parties and social networking opportunities. But before you start mingling among the A-list set, we've rounded up the spots to hit if you want to spruce up before a major event or chill out after a long day.

From Jennifer Aniston's go-to facialist in Wainscott to a beauty spa (opened by Glenn Close's cousin) that has fans in Gwyneth Paltrow and Scarlett Johansson, the resort towns have no shortage of wellness and beauty retreats. Here are a few suggestions on where to get pampered during HIFF:

A Studio

Tucked away conveniently behind the East Hampton movie theater, this little oasis has 12 different massage modalities and 11 different facials including a cryo facial that uses vaporized liquid nitrogen to shrink pores and increase collagen production. Lasers here perform countless functions, from hair removal to photo rejuvenation.

Salon Xavier

The Olsen twins, Julie Andrews, Jimmy Buffett and Steve Kroft are among the regulars who visit this stunning Soho style salon in Sag Harbor, run by Frenchman Xavier Merat, who looks like he just stepped out of a French movie. Apart from cuts, color, styling and nail services, Xavier has the secret weapon of Karina Freedman, one of New York’s top lash extension experts, who works out of his salon once a week — just make sure to book her ahead. This weekend, the salon is offering a promotion for anyone attending the festival — blowouts are $55 and the spa manicure/pedicure is 20 percent off.

Having trouble squeezing into that dress you want to wear Saturday night? Pop into this spot that opened two months ago, for Ultrashape (ultrasound fat removal) or Body FX, a fat remover and skin-tightener that uses radio frequency. For men who are feeling a little thin in places they don’t want to be, like around the hairline, the spa offers PRP injections to stimulate growth, along with Botox and fillers.

Little Bird Healing Spa

The East End is not generally known for bargains, but this spot with locations in Southampton and East Hampton has super strong massages at very reasonable rates. A full body rub down is just $63 in Southampton and $79 at the newer facility in East Hampton; reflexology is just $43 for an hour in Southampton and $54 in East Hampton; and a two-hour body scrub is $160 in Southampton and $160 in East Hampton.

Aniston was so happy with Thuyen Nguyen’s natural lifting facial, which takes years off through a combination of manual muscle toning and cupping, that she introduced Nguyen to Justin Theroux, who gets the treatment before shooting The Leftovers. Nguyen, whose main studio is in Tribeca, and who also amps up the faces of Natalie Portman, Jimmy Fallon and Uma Thurman, will be at his beach location in Wainscott during the festival. Make sure to ask him for his home exercises, which extend the effects of the treatment.

The wafting scent of aromatherapy starts to relax you as soon as you enter this spa owned by Close’s cousin, Barbara Close. Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson, Drea de Matteo and Jon Bon Jovi are among those who flock here for herbal tinctures, tonics and elixirs such as skin radiance tonic, as well as Esalen style massages. The latest facial: a bio energy lift with copper peptides.

Warren Tricomi

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin, Ivanka Trump and Minka Kelly are clients at this outpost of the top New York salon offering blowouts that last for days. (Let’s just hope Baldwin doesn’t break into his Trump impersonation the next time he and the presidential candidate's daughter cross paths there). To glamorize hair for an event, owner Edward Tricomi suggests a quick gloss, which adds shine and repigmatizes color.

Blow Bar

Film festival attendees will receive a $20 discount on already reasonable services at this popular spot where Edie Falco, Giada de Laurentiis, Katie Lee and Bethenny Frankel head for blowouts. The chic new Bridgehampton location also offers nail services and both have expert makeup application.

It’s worth a trip to the far East End to experience the spa at this oceanfront resort, where many of the treatments, such as sea salt scrubs and thalasso therapy, are inspired by the beach. Celebrity stylist Ric Pipino has taken over the salon, and there also are fitness classes, so you can workout, de-stress and primp, all at one stop.
