#SocialGathering: 'The Handmaid's Tale' Costume Designer Reveals Season 2 Secrets; Diddy Ends Phone Cleanse With New Vodka Ad
And Cate Blanchett could be Harry Styles' style inspo.
Can't keep up with what's been going on in the social media world? Fret not. Here, a gathering of what stars, artists and brands have been up to this week on social media.
Diddy Completes One-Day Phone Fast
Sean "Diddy" Combs kicked off this week by closing for “spiritual maintenance.” On Monday, he let his 13.1 million social media followers know that he was doing a phone fast, only to return back to work on Tuesday. The 50 percent owner of Ciroc posted the brand's latest star-filled Ciroc French Vanilla spot, asking fans if they could name all the stars in the ad. His girlfriend, Cassie, French Montana, DJ Khaled and more all made cameos. Speaking of fancy liquors, check out these fashion labels' latest boozy offerings.

I’m doing a phone fast.
Shannen Doherty Raises Breast-Cancer Awareness
Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Shannen Doherty, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2015, is documenting her journey in the most viscerally honest, brave way possible: by sharing the truths behind living with the disease on social media. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, she has posted photos from her chemotherapy treatments, hair loss, motivational words and more. From the comments, it's clear that her followers provide an incredible amount of support, and vice versa. Doherty is currently in remission.
Breast Cancer Awareness month continues. This photo represents so much of my journey with chemo. I had completed my first chemo session. Was on steroids and yet so sick. Bloated yet throwing up. I had to be hooked up to get hydrated because I couldn’t keep even water down. Chemo is different for everyone. Some tolerate it better than others. At the time, I remember thinking it couldn’t get much worse. I was wrong. Yet I am here today. A different person than I was. I don’t think I’ve yet discovered all the ways cancer changed me. As I told someone recently..... I am a work in progress and I’m ok with that. #sutc #breastcancerawareness
Breast Cancer Awareness month. This image is so personal to me. I had started chemo. Was using a cold cap in hope to not lose my hair. End result was clumps in my hands. I was sick, felt like I was losing myself. Gained people and lost people. Got weak and got strong. Felt ugly and yet more beautiful inside than I had ever felt before. I remember this like it was yesterday, like it was a minute ago. Cancer has so many phases. Shock, denial, acceptance, anger, resentment, rebellion, fear, appreciation, beauty. Remission. Even then, the phases keep coming. Cancer is with you forever. Those who have experienced it know that even after you’ve kicked it’s ass, it still impacts you, in good ways and bad. You still go thru the roller coaster of emotions. You still need support and love. And you can still grasp life and live, live live. #cancer #cancerslayer
"Turned Up Tina"
Tina Lawson, mother of Beyonce and Solange, is quickly, dare we say it, ruling Instagram. For a Halloween #FlashbackFriday, Lawson posted videos of herself dressed up as Tina Turner, sharing that Beyonce called the look "Turned Up Tina." Dancing to "What's Love Got to Do With It," Lawson nails Turner's legendary dance moves and rocker-meets-diva hair. Beyonce performed "Proud Mary" at the 2005 Kennedy Center Honors, where Turner received the coveted lifetime achievement award from President George W. Bush. Mom must have been really, really proud.
Ane Crabtree Dishes on The Handmaid's Tale Season 2
Ane Crabtree, the costume designer who created the incredible robes seen on Hulu's The Handmaid’s Tale, as well as the Western turned samurai looks on HBO’s Westworld, exclusively shared with Pret-a-Reporter's Instagram followers what’s to come for both shows. Crabtree answered questions while attending Chanel's Through Her Lens: The Tribeca Chanel Women's Filmmaker Program's luncheon, and while she is not returning to design for Westworld season two, she is returning to The Handmaid’s Tale (yes!). She reveals that "a whole new world will be presented" on the dystopian drama, including “a whole new color [of robe].” When asked if she thought the original bold shade of red, officially named “life’s blood” by Crabtree, influenced the spring 2018 runways, she responded, “unequivocally, yes!”
When Harry Copied Cate?
Back in May of this year, an astute Cate Blanchett fan observed that Harry Styles was picking up on some of the actress’ stunning style inspo. From pink suits to polka dots, the two have rocked similar looks for the past two years. On Monday, Ellen DeGeneres asked a bemused Blanchett about the happy coincidence, and Blanchett suggested that the singer would look great in the nude pants and red suit jacket she was wearing. Blanchett ended the interview by saying she would like to see Styles naked. So we’ll leave you with that.
Quitting my job and setting up a crowdfunding page for my PhD on how Cate Blanchett is Harry Styles' style inspiration. Pls give generously. pic.twitter.com/4600h7B5Tg— Fiona S (@Fioooonah) May 9, 2017
