'Hangover' still raging at the boxoffice

Warners says comedy had best Monday for R-rated pic

Moviegoers still aren't over "The Hangover."

Warner Bros.' Todd Phillips-helmed "Hangover" rang up $7.7 million Monday in what the studio dubbed the best-ever Monday performance by an R-rated comedy.

"It's all about the word-of-mouth right now," Warners distribution topper Dan Fellman said.

The meaty Monday haul bodes well for the pic's looming sophomore session at the boxoffice, following a chart-topping $45 million tally in its first weekend.

Elsewhere Monday, Disney/Pixar's 3-D animated feature "Up" continued to enjoy strong business into a third week of play, grossing a solid $4.7 million to up its cume to $142.3 million.

Universal's Will Ferrell starrer "Land of the Lost" registered $1.8 million Monday, shaping a $20.6 million cume through its first eight days.
