Hasselhoff leaves 'America's Got Talent'

Says he will announce own TV show shortly

David Hasselhoff is leaving "America's Got Talent" after four years as a judge alongside Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne

"I am proud that I was part of making 'America's Got Talent' the No. 1 rated show for the past four summers," Hasselhoff said in a statement to People magazine. "It's been a rewarding experience and now I'm thrilled to be able to follow my dream to do my own TV show, which will be announced very shortly."
The actor/singer, who has battled alcoholism, offered no further details on his new project.

A search is under way for a new judge on the talent show hosted by Nick Cannon.

"David's been an integral part of the success of 'America's Got Talent' and we are sad to see him go," NBC said in a statement.
