HBO Central Europe taps Marc Lorber

Signals move to ramp up original programming

LONDON -- Pay TV powerhouse HBO Central Europe said Tuesday it has appointed Marc Lorber to the newly created position of executive producer and senior vp original programming and production.

Emmy-nominated Lorber, who will relocate to HBO Central Europe headquarters in Budapest, moves to HBO from Marvista Entertainment, where he was senior vp production, overseeing telefilms, miniseries and series projects for networks including Lifetime, Hallmark, MTV Networks and SyFy.

He takes up the post with immediate effect, reporting to HBO Central Europe CEO Linda Jensen.

"Marc's appointment comes at a time when the demand for original production in our region is growing rapidly," Jensen said. "As a successful producer in the U.S. and many of our territories, his experience in these diverse markets will support our continuing investment in original programming for eastern and central Europe."
