From breaking the news of Mel Gibson's anti-Semitic rant to providing up-to-the minute updates on Britney's misadventures, the Time Warner-owned Web venture pursues its celebrity targets with a hard news-style intensity that attracts an average of 9.9 million visitors each month. Last fall's launch of TMZ on TV successfully transitioned the brand, scoring a solid 2.1 million viewers per night. Managing editor Harvey Levin — a former lawyer and "People's Court" legal analyst — is the tireless engine that keeps TMZ running.
