Healy to run ONO TV unit


MADRID -- Spanish broadband cable operator ONO announced Tuesday the appointment of Paul Healy as director of its television division, where he will oversee development and growth of content and new services for the pay platform.

"With Paul, we launch a new stage at ONO in which we want to accelerate the growth of our television platform," ONO CEO Richard Alden, whom Healy will report to, said in a statement.

Healy comes from British cable company NTL/Telewest, where he headed content acquisition.

ONO boasts a 6.25% share of the pay TV market and a 16% rise in the past eight months. The company posted 2005 revenues of €1.7 billion ($2.2 billion), with an EBITDA of €458 million ($604.2 million).
