For Hollywood, that's just pocket change

Someone has gotten ahold of an Hermes Birkin bag — but not without paying a pretty penny, of course. On Tuesday, one of the iconic bags sold for $185,000 through Heritage Auction in Los Angeles.

Described on the site as reflecting the "majestic Himalayan mountains," the bag is made of matte Himalayan Nilo and features 18-karat white gold hardware and 242 diamonds with a total weight of 9.84 carats.

If you think that's pricey, think again. In 2011, the Porosus diamond Birkin bag sold at auction for $203,150 through Heritage Auction in Dallas.

Earlier this year, Hermes held a Petit h pop-up shop at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, where a refurbished orange leather-bound book sold for $112,400. We don't doubt that it was probably bought in a matter of minutes, too.

To whoever scored that Birkin bag, feel free to throw any additional dollar bills our way — we could use them.
