Hernandez draws 'Blood' for NBC, Ratner

April Lee Hernandez has joined NBC's drama pilot "Blue Blood," to be directed by Brett Ratner.

Based on Edward Conlon's memoir, the 20th TV-produced "Blood" is an ensemble show about NYPD rookie cops assigned to street patrol. The show centers on one of the cops, Ed (Logan Marshall-Green), a Harvard graduate.

Hernandez will play Sofia, a rookie NYPD cop who comes from the streets. The actress, whose credits include the feature "Freedom Writers" and a recurring role on NBC's "ER," is repped by Gersh and Rugolo Entertainment.
