HGTV's 'Ed' sows celebs next season

Bradley Whitford, Sharon Lawrence and Daryl Hannah are among the celebrities set to get some "green" counseling from Ed Begley Jr. in the second season of HGTV's "Living With Ed."

In its upcoming season, the show will focus less on Begley's home life with his wife, Rachelle Carson Begley, and more on Begley showing his celebrity friends and everyday people how easy and affordable it is to make their homes environmentally friendly.

Also among the initial group of celebrities signed on to appear in the show -- more announcements are expected -- are Jackson Browne and Cheryl Tiegs.

HGTV has ordered 13 episodes for "Ed's" second season, which is in production. The first four episodes of the new season are tentatively scheduled to air 10 p.m. Aug. 26 and Sept. 2, immediately following "HGTV Design Star."

"Ed" is one of several HGTV programs intended to showcase eco-friendly designs, products and lifestyles. Others include "Red, Hot and Green," debuting 9 p.m. June 10, and the tentatively titled "Carter Can," debuting 10:30 a.m. Oct. 6.
