The daytime vet will also help oversee nonfiction content at ABC News.

The View is ringing in the New Year with a new promotion behind the scenes.

Hilary Estey McLoughlin has been named senior executive producer of The View and nonfiction content at ABC News, it was announced Wednesday.

Estey McLoughlin came on board the daytime talk show in season 19 as a consultant. Her tenure at the long-running series has coincided with several major cast shake-ups, most recently the exits of Candace Cameron Bure and, before her, Raven-Symone. Comedian Michelle Collins also left in 2016, which saw the additions of Paula Faris, Sara Haines, Jedediah Bila and Sunny Hostin.

In addition to the show's fresh faces, 2015 also saw the return of longtime co-host Joy Behar after a two-year break. Whoopi Goldberg, who extended her contract in June, also continues to serve as moderator.

In addition to her continued work on The View alongside fellow executive producer Candi Carter and co-executive producer Brian Teta, Estey McLoughlin will help spearhead new projects at ABC News' Lincoln Square Productions and work with the network's West Coast team on potential primetime content.

Estey McLoughlin previously served as president of creative affairs at CBS Television Distribution. Earlier in her career, she played an important role in the development and launch of The Rosie O'Donnell Show and The Tyra Banks Show and later served as president of Telepictures.

I'm pleased to announce that Hilary Estey McLoughlin has been named Senior Executive Producer of The View and Non-Fiction Content.

Hilary is a true creative force and a proven and experienced leader — and I know we will see her drive ABC News forward across every one of our platforms.

Hilary first joined The View as a consultant in season 19. She's helped lead a turnaround at the show, bringing new voices and familiar faces back to the table.

A seasoned development executive, Hilary launched some of the best-known programs on TV, including Ellen and The Rosie O'Donnell Show.

She'll help Morgan and the talented team at Lincoln Square Productions spearhead new projects and work closely with our West Coast colleagues at ABC on our primetime output. LSP just had its best year ever, and they have a slate of truly ambitious storytelling already in production for 2017.

Under the leadership of Hilary, Candi and Brian, The View's ratings are up across the board, making it the only broadcast daytime show to see gains in the key demos this season. News-making guests, politics and provocative hot topics have made The View part of the cultural conversation once again. I can't wait to see what's ahead in 2017 from this terrific group on air and behind the scenes.

I'm delighted to welcome Hilary full-time to ABC News.

Please join me in congratulating her.
