Broadway is bulking up for Hillary Clinton.
Stephen Schwartz, Harvey Weinstein, Jordan Roth, Richie Jackson and Anna Wintour are producing a star-studded fundraiser concert in support of the Democratic presidential candidate. The show will be livestreamed on Clinton's website as well as her campaign's YouTube and Facebook pages.
Hosted by Billy Crystal, the Oct. 17 evening at the St. James Theatre in New York City — titled "Stronger Together" — will feature never-before-seen performance collaborations, including a number by Emily Blunt and Bernadette Peters (of the film and original Broadway cast of Into the Woods, respectively). Sarah Jessica Parker and Andrea McArdle will also join forces to sing “Tomorrow” from Annie, in which both actresses starred as the title role.
The fundraiser will also include appearances and performances by Bette Midler, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jon Hamm, Julia Roberts, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hugh Jackman, Matthew Broderick, Anne Hathaway, Josh Groban, Angela Bassett, Lena Dunham, Ansel Elgort, Sara Bareilles, Neil Patrick Harris, Helen Mirren, Sienna Miller, Cynthia Erivo, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Sarah Jones, Ayodele Casel and more.
Chelsea Clinton will be in attendance at the event, which will be directed by Michael Mayer and include musical direction by Seth Rudetsky and scenic design by David Rockwell. John Guare will serve as script consultant, with Diane Paulus as a special consultant.
Individual tickets are available from $45 for young professionals to $10,000. Proceeds will benefit the Hillary Victory Fund.
