Hillary Clinton Wore Ralph Lauren and Miu Miu for First Presidential Debate
Clinton and Donald Trump went head to head in a 90-minute showdown at Hofstra University in Long Island on Monday night.
Hillary Clinton made a statement in red for the first presidential debate at Hofstra University in Long Island on Monday night.
The bold suit was designed by Ralph Lauren — the same label the Democratic presidential nominee wore to the Democratic National Convention. Clinton paired her ensemble with Miu Miu kitten heels and a necklace by American jewelry designer Julie Vos.
Twitter took notice of Clinton's power suit, with one user writing, "I see Hillary has come dressed in the blood of men who have underestimated her." Another user added: "Hillary wore red to the debate because it's murder tonight."

While Clinton opted for red, a hue typically associated with the Republican party, Donald Trump went with a silk tie in royal blue (a color usually saved for Democrats). The color switch didn't go unnoticed on social media, either.

Fashion politics aside, the evening saw Trump taking digs at Clinton ("I want you to be happy — it's very important to me"), Trump sniffling and Clinton winning the debate (though some would argue otherwise).
