WEDDING: Film/TV producer and former Paramount executive John Goldwyn (Dexter, I'm Not There) tied the knot in a commitment ceremony with his partner of more than seven years, hotelier and restaurateur Jeffrey Klein (Sunset Tower, New York's City Club and Monkey Bar), at the Manka's Inverness Lodge in Inverness, Calif., on April 30. Emily Goldwyn, John's daughter, officiated the ceremony. The couple were later feted by Goldwyn's father, legendary producer and The Samuel Goldwyn Co. CEO Samuel Goldwyn Jr. at a lavish dinner reception for more than 100 of their friends and family at Samuel's Beverly Hills home May 7.


Bard Dorros, manager at Anonymous Content, and his wife, Alex, welcomed a son, Nash, on April 19 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. The couple also has a son, West, 21 months.

Kori Bernards, senior vp media relations at Universal Pictures, and Tom Eisenhauer welcomed a daughter, Avery Edith, on May 4. The duo also have a son, Jackson.


Superman's Henry Cavill announced his engagement May 3 to his girlfriend of more than a year, 2012 Olympic show jumping contender Ellen Whitaker.

Gabriel Ben-Meir, a 30-year-old music and production coordinator at MTV, was murdered in L.A. around midnight May 8. Detectives are investigating.

TV and stage actress Sada Thompson died May 4 of lung disease in Danbury, Conn. The Twigs and Our Town star was 83.

Actor, director and producer Jackie Cooper, the youngest person, at 9, ever to receive an Oscar nom for a leading role, died May 3 of natural causes in Santa Monica. He was 88.

Playwright, screenwriter and director Arthur Laurents, 93, who penned Gypsy, West Side Story and The Way We Were, died May 5 in Manhattan.
