MARIA SCHNEIDER, 1950-2011: French actress Maria Schneider, best known for starring opposite Marlon Brando in Bernardo Bertolucci’s Last Tango in Paris (1972) at age 19, died Feb. 3 in Paris after a long battle with cancer. She was 58.


ESPN senior coordinating producer Michael Leber wed Denise Choquette, vp and senior legal counsel at Gilbane Building Co., on Jan. 29 at Brown University’s Manning Chapel in Providence, R.I.


Craig Ferguson and wife Megan welcomed their first child together, son Liam James, on Jan. 31 in Los Angeles. Ferguson has another son, Milo, 9, from a previous marriage.

Colin Hanks and wife Samantha Bryant welcomed their first child, daughter Olivia Jane, on Feb. 1 in Los Angeles.

Christina Applegate and her fiance, musician Martyn LeNoble, welcomed daughter Sadie Grace LeNoble on Jan. 27 in Los Angeles.

Steve Gigliotti was promoted to president of national advertising sales and marketing at Scripps Networks Interactive on Feb. 1.

Gary Moore, a rock and blues guitarist who played with Thin Lizzy during its heyday and recorded 20 solo albums, was found dead Feb. 6 in Estepona, Spain. He was 58.

Ron Baird, former head of CAA’s Nashville office who repped Shania Twain, died Feb. 3 of Parkinson’s complications. He was 60.

Stefanie Kowal, former head of movies and miniseries at Universal TV, died Jan. 26 of cancer at 69.
