Hollywood Docket: Nov. 15, 2007

Wright Entertainment v. Spears, Case No. 07CA14233 (Orange County Circuit Ct., Fla.), filed Oct. 27.

Claims: Breach of contract.

Allegations: Johnny Wright provided management services for Britney Spears starting in January 1999. Spears amended the agreement in 2001 to provide a termination date of Feb. 20, 2003, and a five-year "sunset" on payment of commissions expiring Feb. 20, 2008. Spears has violated the "sunset" provision, failing to pay Wright commissions "resulting from the efforts of WEG during the term of the [management] Agreement."

Filing attorney: Clay Townsend, Morgan & Morgan, Orlando, Fla.

Electra Blue Prods v. NWWL Prods, Case No. BC380375 (LASC), filed Nov. 7.

Claims: Violation of statutory and common-law publicity rights; breach of contract; unfair competition; negligence; unjust enrichment.

Allegations: Carmen Electra agreed to act as host of four live "Naked Women's Wrestling League" events in return for a payment of $400,000 plus royalties on, among other things, pay-per-view and DVD/videocassette sales. Defendants paid Electra only $100,000 of the total guaranteed compensation and never paid her any royalties or contingent compensation. Electra also alleges wrongful use of her name in referring to the league as "Carmen Electra's NWWL" or stating that "Carmen Electra Presents NWWL."

Filing attorney: Todd Bonder, Rosenfeld Meyer & Susman, Beverly Hills.
