The premiere of The Lincoln Lawyer at the ArcLight Hollywood was a rousing family affair for star Matthew McConaughey, whose girlfriend Camila Alves, mother, Kay, and brother Rooster joined the actor to toast Lionsgate/Lakeshore’s adaptation of Michael Connelly’s best-selling novel. Director Brad Furman, whose beaming attorney parents also were on hand, said it was “a dream” to work with McConaughey, and he hopes to be building “a particular type of career that’s synonymous with quality filmmaking, like William Friedkin and Sidney Lumet.” Postscreening, the crowd, including co-stars Trace Adkins and Josh Lucas, moved to Eden nightclub in Hollywood. Sipping red wine, the film’s lead soaked it all in. “I’m enjoying my work now more than I ever have,” he said. “I gotta keep going as long as I can!”
