The 64th Cannes Film Festival lured Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides -- with its crew headed by Johnny Depp -- into port to guarantee some star wattage. But they weren't the only celebrities docking. The Pitt-Jolie family made a holiday of it: Angelina Jolie promoted Kung Fu Panda 2, while partner Brad Pitt walked the red carpet -- along with co-stars Sean Penn and Jessica Chastain -- for the far artier The Tree of Life, in which he plays an overly stern father. "I beat my kids regularly -- it seems to do the trick -- and deprive them of meals," the actor joked at a news conference. As usual, the fest has been a celebrity SigAlert, with everyone from jury president Robert De Niro to festival poster girl Faye Dunaway to Puss in Boots co-stars Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek attending. "It's a heightened, euphoric experience," Woody Allen, who was there with his Midnight in Paris, said of the festival. "I'm always embarrassed."  -- Gregg Kilday
