ENLIGHTENED PREMIERE: The premiere of HBO's newest dramedy series, Enlightened, was a mother-daughter affair. Laura Dern, who stars as an executive searching for spiritual enlightenment after a public meltdown, walked the red carpet at the Paramount lot with her onscreen and real-life mom, Diane Ladd, along with co-stars Sarah Burns, Charles Esten, Timm Sharp, Amy Hill and writer-producer-director Mike White. Taking on the role was therapeutic, according to Dern, who revealed: "I learned about being honest about my feelings. There is no hiding anything." Her message of enlightenment? "It's time to get as mad as hell and not take it anymore." -- Ramona Saviss
