Hollywood Reporter Vying for Two National Magazine Cover Awards
The Megyn Kelly and Jimmy Kimmel covers are up for two readers' choice awards at next month's prestigious Ellies.
The Hollywood Reporter is vying for best cover awards handed out by the American Society of Magazine Editors in two readers' choice categories.
THR's Sept. 23, 2016, Emmy Issue, featuring Jimmy Kimmel as Marcia Clark in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story on the cover, is up for for best entertainment and celebrity cover.
THR's Nov. 25, 2016, issue with Megyn Kelly on the cover is a finalist in the category of best news and politics covers.
The 2017 ASME best cover contest honors magazine covers published between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2016. The contest comprises two sets of awards: the ASME best cover awards (chosen by ASME members) and the ASME readers’ choice awards, including the ASME most-liked cover (as determined by likes on Facebook). Each cover entered is eligible to win both a best cover award and a readers’ choice award.
Readers can vote for a favorite cover here until Jan. 26.
A full list of Ellie Award nominees will be unveiled Jan. 19.
The awards, established in 1966, are sponsored by ASME in association with the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Known as the "Ellies" — for the Alexander Calder stabile elephant given to each winner — the awards will be presented Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at the Ellie Awards Annual Gala.
