Home Improvement Show 'Win This House!' Comes to Facebook (Exclusive)
The series, which will run for eight weeks, will be hosted by former HGTV stars Andy and Candis Meredith.
Facebook is adding home renovation to its programming lineup with a new video series that will follow the restoration of a vintage house.
Hailing from digital firm Home Love Network, Win This House! will team fans up with Andy and Candis Meredith, the former hosts of HGTV's Old Home Love, to renovate a house that one of the fans will win at the end of the series.
Win This House! debuts Wednesday exclusively on Watch, Facebook's newly launched video platform. The series will run for eight weeks, with three new episodes debuting each week.
"Home improvement audiences are hands-on, and today we're taking their favorite genre from passive to active, providing a one-of-a-kind experience that puts the fans are in charge," said Home Love Network CEO Nykelle Schlofman, noting that the Watch platform "offers us an unparalleled opportunity to actively receive feedback and input, bringing our fans virtually along with co-hosts Andy and Candis for the entire journey as they help turn this amazing old home into something beautiful."
Throughout the duration of the show, viewers will be able to tune in to help make design decisions and ask questions as the hosts renovate a home built in the early 1900s. At the end of the series, one winner will be able to call the house home. In the first episode, viewers will help the Merediths choose the color of the cabinets for the kitchen. The final decision will then be announced live.
"We don't know where our fans are going to take us, and that's part of the thrill of this new genre of digital content," continued Schlofman, who co-founded Home Love Network with the Merediths. "Their collective wisdom, input, and vision will in fact affect the final outcome. In the end, one special participant is going to win this house, and we know viewers will be uniquely invested in this series as a result."
Win This House! joins a growing slate of programs on Watch, including other funded shows such as Humans of New York and live dating series Make Up or Break Up.
