Hong Kong film festival has 'Soul'

Yoji Yamada's "Kabei — Our Mother" and "Soul of a Demon" from Taiwanese director Chang Tso-chi will open this year's Hong Kong International Film Festival on March 17, organizers said Wednesday.

Closing night on April 6 will feature a double bill of Martin Scorsese's Rolling Stones documentary "Shine a Light," fresh from its Berlinale premiere, and "Coffee or Tea," co-directed by local filmmaker Shu Kei and his top student at Hong Kong's Academy for Performing Arts, Kwan Man-hin.

HKIFF is expected to announce its full lineup at a news conference today in Hong Kong.
