Hot Chip sets release date for fourth album

British electro-pop band's 'One Life Stand' out Feb. 9

NEW YORK -- British electro-pop outfit Hot Chip will release its fourth studio album on Feb. 9, 2010, the band announced Tuesday. Entitled "One Life Stand," the Astrawerks set is said to mix the band's signature dance sound with a range of soul music influences, from gospel to contemporary R&B.

A pre-order of "One Life Stand" currently available on Hot Chip's official site includes a free download of a new track entitled "Take It In." reports that the album's lead single will be that song or the title track.

Just last week, Hot Chip announced a 12-stop U.K. tour that will kick off in Glasgow on Feb. 12. Details on additional European tour dates and a U.S. trek are forthcoming.

"One Life Stand" follows Hot Chip's acclaimed 2008 album "Made in the Dark," which debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Since then the group has remained prolific, with bandmates Joe Goddard and Alexis Taylor both releasing solo albums and the entire band releasing a compilation under the popular "Bugged Out" mix series.
